Life can be a bit complicated. We'd like to make at least one thing easier - getting fresh locally grown or produced food to your kitchen ... well, to your doorstep anyway! This can involve recipes and ingredients or not, as well as extra orders for fruit, bread, coffee etc.
Locavore Boxes are wooden and returnable (thank you); fruit bags are fabric and also returnable (thank you!) and if you order recipes, the glass jars used for pulses, grains or spices etc are also returnable (Yup, thank you).
Our primary focus is in supporting local growers and producers; a side benefit is that many of these growers are using organic or biodynamic processes.
At the moment Locavore Boxes contain a selection of the following seasonal produce :
- Potatoes
- carrots
- Spring onions
- red onions
- Coriander
- Flatleaf parsley
- Basil
- sweetcorn
- garlic
- radishes
- salad greens (and reds)
- courgettes
- tomatoes
- chilli and capsicum
- leafy greens - silverbeet, Asian greens or kale
- Microgreens
- brassicas - broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage
If you want fruit you can order that too (this is an extra order) – at the moment this would be a selection of new season's stonefruit and some soft fruits as well. The box pictured as the Family Box has extra berries and a bag of recipe ingredients...
